10 Beauty Products You Shouldn’t Lend

If you share your makeup and personal care products, like deodorant, you are exposing yourself to a multitude of bacteria and microorganisms that can cause irritations and infections.

You are getting ready to go out to party with your best friend. While you are putting on makeup, she asks you to lend her products from your makeup bag. Without a doubt, you answer “take what you need”.

Warning ! Several beauty products should not be shared. It doesn’t matter if it’s your sister, your best friend or your cousin, don’t share your makeup!

If you don’t want to sound selfish, explain your reasons to her. If she loves you, she will understand you and thank you because it is also a way to take care of her.

1. Mascara for eyelashes

The eyes are one of the most delicate areas of the face and body in general, as they easily suffer from infections. One of the most typical cases is conjunctivitis, but there are even more serious pathologies.

The eyelashes are barriers that prevent microorganisms from entering the eyes. Therefore, if you share the mascara, you are exposing yourself to several diseases.

2. Brushes or sponges

A lot of germs and bacteria are lodged on the skin that we cannot see because they are microscopic. When more than one person uses the same makeup brush or sponge to apply makeup to their face or neck, all bad germs spread from skin to skin.

Even if your friend has washed her face well, if she has pimples or blackheads, it is not good for you to share these products.

3. The toothbrush

If you aren’t shy about sharing your toothbrush with your girlfriend or boyfriend, from now on you should think twice before doing so.

The mouth contains a lot of bacteria which accumulate. Some illnesses like the flu or oral herpes can be spread when you use the same toothbrush.

A good idea is to have a spare in the bathroom (a new one) for the days when someone is sleeping in your house. In your case, always take a toothbrush with you.

4. The razor is one of the objects not to be lent

You are at your boyfriend’s house and you realize that you need to shave your armpits. So you run into the bathroom and find her razor… You take advantage of it! But you shouldn’t.

When you shave, you can cut off a piece of skin and bleed. Therefore, bacteria remain on the slide even if you rinse it. You never know if the other person has an illness like hepatitis or HIV. Pay close attention!

This can also apply in the case of tweezers, wax and electric epilator. Don’t share anything, and don’t ask for one of these products to be lent to you either!

5. Lipstick is one of the products you should not lend

You’re about to go out for a drink with your coworkers and while you are doing your makeup in the bathroom, your friend arrives and asks you to lend her a matching lipstick to her outfit.

Much like the toothbrush, it is not good to share products that have come in contact with your lips or mouth. Also, don’t wear lipstick or lip gloss from the stores.

If there is no other solution than to have it loaned, before using it, spray it with alcohol (you should also have some in your bag in case of an emergency).

6. Creams in jars or bottles

Once you put your fingers in a cream or lotion, you leave bacteria there, which thrive as soon as they get on your face. If they are dangerous to you, imagine what it can do to others.

Do not handle this type of product without washing your hands first.

7. The eyeliner is one of the products not to lend

As with mascara, if you lend your eyeliner to a friend, she will pass on the viruses or bacteria that are in her eyes to you.

One of the most serious complications of this neglect on your part is keratitis, an eye infection.

8. Deodorant

The armpits are a place in the body where a lot of bacteria collects due to sweating. You can only share your spray deodorant. The others are personal.

Gel or roll-on deodorants come into direct contact with the skin and accumulate millions of germs. Before using them, it is best to clean the area well, and do not lend them, even for an emergency!

9. The nail clipper

In each household, there is often only one nail clipper for all family members. However, this is a big mistake, unless you are very careful and clean it every time you use it.

When we cut our nails, we introduce the cutting element where bacteria and dirt hide. Avoid sharing your nail clippers to avoid getting yeast infections and infections.

10. The nail file

Under the fingernails, a large amount of bacteria accumulates, causing all types of diseases.

It’s good to wash and dry them before using a nail file and of course don’t lend it to anyone!
