To Be Happy, We Must Learn To Move Away From Certain People

It is better to move away from people who prevent us from growing and being happy and who give us a series of concerns that have nothing to do with ourselves.

Getting away from certain people improves our physical and emotional health. We can say that to be happy, we need to take some distance from conflicts that are caused by people who drain our energy and destroy our ability to react.

To be happy and feel good, we need to move away from the emotional destruction, instability, and uncertainty that comes with people who interfere with our emotional capacity and twist our sensitivity.

So, it is essential to know that in order to achieve this we must be prepared to accept the fact that we do not really know the people we think we know.

Indeed, we must realize that you are subject to their demands, judgments and toxic behaviors.

What others think of you is their reality, not yours

We must be aware that throughout our life we will meet a lot of people who do not know how to respect or consider the feelings, thoughts and beliefs of others.

Therefore, we feel used as puppets subjected to the bad mood of others, which turns into internal and external conflicts.

It is likely that because of this, we feel that these people “do not live and do not let others live” and that as a result, they hamper our development, theirs and the blossoming of a relationship that could. to be healthy but which has become poisonous.

However, it may be that whatever discomfort these people trigger is absolutely unaware and they don’t question whether what they are doing or feeling can hurt.

This happens because they themselves are subject to the spiral of their own problems, which they have created.

They are therefore immersed and stuck in this whirlwind from which they can only get out with great effort and awareness.

Take emotional distance

We cannot always physically move away from people who make our daily life difficult to be happy, because they are relatives, work colleagues, or people very present in our surroundings.

However, we agree that despite the power of physical distance, what really makes the difference is emotional distance.

For this, we must work to gather all the necessary forces to keep us out of their capacity for action and thus prevent these people from having too much influence on us.

But how to do it ?

Take advantage of the anticipation to be happy

You probably know how the person will react to such and such a situation. So take advantage of this to protect yourself.

Raise the bar when giving credit to others

Don’t give credit to people who are malicious and won’t get you anything.

To do this, draw inspiration from a traditional Socratic teaching that offers us the possibility of filtering the comments of others as well as our own.

Manage your expectations

Sometimes we expect so much from others that we are unable to accept reality as it is.

At this point, we have to accept that we don’t know so well the people from whom we expect a lot and who constantly disappoint us.

It also allows us to reassess our expectations of other people, who can be very demanding, biased and even polluted by great discomfort.

Once you have successfully filtered out the bad deeds, you will focus on your growth opportunities and stop using your strengths as a result of environmental toxicity.

Keep your perspective in mind to achieve indifference

When you start to feel that you have come down from that famous roller coaster that was locking you in, you will manage to forget the worries that the person or the entourage brought to you that you are trying to let go of.

Then you will free yourself from these insecurities and the disproportionate reactions that conflicts have provoked in you.

Once you are free of it, your mind will clear up and you will be ready to expose your feelings, fears, and also thoughts.

This effort will get a quick result and you will realize that you need to distance yourself from certain people.

Life is so fleeting that it does not deserve to be invaded by unnecessary anxieties as well.

So, love people who make you feel good. And stay away from those that are harmful to you to be happy.
