How To Treat Bruises?

Consuming blood thinning medications such as aspirin can make bruising worse. A poultice of almond leaves and water can prevent their formation.

A bruise, or bruise, is a bruise or blow that causes blood to clot which marks the skin because of this impact.  However, it is possible to heal the bruises.

They can be very painful when the blood vessels are damaged. The most widely used medical term is “contusion”. They can also develop in the muscles or down to the bones.

Find out which are the most effective home remedies for bruising.

The characteristics of blues

The bruises take a few weeks to disappear completely. Some people are more vulnerable to it than others.

In this time, they change color. At first, they are of a reddish tone, then they turn brown, purple or blue and will mix with green or yellow until they disappear.

The levels of injury can change depending on the age or sensitivity of the person’s skin. The elderly and those with very white skin suffer from bruises the most.

This is because their blood vessels are more fragile, but their skin is also more sensitive to blows and marks.

The “common” symptoms of bruises are pain in the area (especially when touched or brushed against it) and inflammation. They are not serious if they are small or if the pain decreases.

If you experience any major symptom such as nausea or pain in the heart, it is necessary to seek immediate medical attention. Blows or trauma to the eyes and head must be treated urgently.

Blues formation

Blue appears when we receive a blow or if we fall on the street.  The intensity of the blow necessary to “mark” the skin changes with the factors mentioned above, the age or the sensitivity of the skin.

In old age, they can also appear without lesions . They can appear in athletes who lift weights, for example, due to exertion.

Patients who ingest medicines which can thin the blood (such as aspirin, ibuprofen, medicines for arthritis or inflammation) may interfere with the natural clotting of the blood. This is the reason why it will cause bigger bruises.

Other people who can be prone to bruises are those with problems like hemophilia or cirrhosis of the liver.

Women can be more prone than men to this kind of bruising. Indeed, they put on skirts, they use depilatory wax and can also have more sensitive skin in certain cases.

Here are the steps to take to treat bruises:

  • Apply cold or frozen compresses as soon as possible as soon as you get a blow. Some place pieces of ice on the affected area. Likewise, a bag of vegetables previously placed in a freezer can be an excellent remedy.
  • Dip a cotton ball in cold apple cider vinegar and apply immediately, exerting a little pressure (not too much so as not to hurt).
  • Crush some fresh almond leaves and add a little water to make a poultice. This will prevent the hematoma from forming. Apply directly after the stroke.

  • Immediately apply a steak or veal steak to the area where the impact occurred. This will calm the pain and, at the same time, reduce the possibility of the hematoma forming.
  • Make a paste with a little butter and ground parsley. Rub this mixture on the bruised area without exerting too much pressure.
  • Immediately place a compress with arnica, which can be obtained without problems in pharmacies. Heat the arnica in a liter of water for 15 minutes.

Natural solutions to treat bruises

  • First apply an apple-based poultice, from which you need to remove the skin. Then apply the peeled apple peel to your skin. You can also cut pieces of peelings that you wrap in a light gauze before placing them on the affected area.
  • First make an onion poultice. Heat a piece of this plant in a pan and place it in a gauze. Apply it to the spot where you hit yourself. Let stand between 4 and 5 hours.
  • First add 20 grams of calendula to an average liter of water. Let it boil for a few minutes and let stand for a quarter of an hour. Then take a piece of linen or fabric (preferably cotton). The mixture will shrink with the water, apply it as a compress.
  • Prepare an infusion of 25 grams of Witch Hazel leaves with an average liter of water. Then boil for 15 minutes and let cool. Soak a cloth and apply to the area, without allowing it to dry on the skin.
  • Dissolve 10 drops of houseleek essential oil (a plant) in a spoonful of almond oil. Soak a cotton ball moistened with hot water with this liquid. Leave on the area overnight.
  • Put three tablespoons of salt in a cotton cloth, folded well so that the salt does not fall. Place it in a container that contains lukewarm water. Squeeze so that the water does not run out and apply to the affected area about eight hours after hurting yourself.

Other solutions to treat bruises

  • Mix the juice of one lemon with a spoonful of salt. Dip a cloth in this preparation and rub on the skin at the neck for a few minutes.
  • Pour a handful of anise leaves in a cup of boiling water. Leave on and make a poultice where the blow is. Change it frequently.
  • First take a handful of lemon balm leaves, leave to dry in a container and pour over 250 ml of almond oil. Leave the mixture to act for 15 days (stirring daily) and filter directly. Melt 25 grams of beeswax and add two vitamin E capsules. Mix with the previous solution and store in the refrigerator until needed to use.

There are therefore many solutions to promote the disappearance of bruises. You just need to choose the method that best suits your skin!
